“Chermi blogs now?!”
Yes, yes indeed. Welcome, welcome.
As I continue to build my brand, I find myself struggling to find a medium with which to fully express every aspect of myself. To date, I have called myself a content creator, a simmer, a builder, an artist, a makeup artist.. etc. but I am all that and more. I really have never liked boxing myself up with labels (which is why I often struggle with personal bios—I never know what to say because everything sounds inaccurate!) Compartmentalizing my many interests and endeavors on the internet might be the most used content-creating strategy to not confuse the audience, but honestly, I crave something more.
So yes, I hereby give birth to this blog!
I would like to also point out that it actually took me about 4-5 months of procrastinating, and then another 2 months of preparing and setting everything up before you’re even reading this now.
But now that this blog is live, and I can no longer run away from myself, here’s a sample of the type of content you can expect to see being posted on here:
A lot of The Sims 4 content
I have many things planned for this website with regards to my TS4 projects. For now, I can definitely promise that I will be starting an exclusive blog-style Let’s Play, which is incredibly exciting to me. I will also start sharing tray files, cc lists and perhaps even mod features and reviews here. There’s too many ideas in my head right now, too much for a bullet point so just stay tuned okay? Promise me.
Musings and meditations on topics I am pondering. a.k.a. big brain stuff
I tend to big brain a lot but I often feel like I’ve never really created a platform on which I feel comfortable to do so. So, since I own this website and its content now, it’s time for me to unleash my inner Marcus Aurelius.
Reviews and recommendations of anything that catches my interest (books, podcasts, products, other media things etc.)
I listen to a ton of podcasts and I also try to read as much as I can. I have a habit of keeping the content that I consume to myself ever since I was young, but I think it is good practice to share the gems that I find with people too. This is going to be a mindfulness practice for me, in a sense. Because I no longer get to just absorb information without processing them into sharable blog posts now. It’ll be good for my learning too, since, as they say, when you teach something, you learn twice! (Don’t ask me who said that, I just hear that saying a lot.)
Lifestyle, hobbies, and travel content
Hurhur, travel. WHEN I do travel, I am planning to write travel journal-styled blogposts about my travels. I’ve tried time and again to vlog my adventures in the past but I have decided that it’s not for me. It’s already hard enough for me to want to whip out my camera to snap pictures because I have, for a long time now, fully embodied the idea of being completely in the moment instead of looking at something through a lens constantly. (I hope I’m making sense here.)
The lifestyle and hobbies part of this bullet point is probably a lot more accessible for me to tackle. This type of content has always been one of my most favorite to consume, so I really want to also start creating my own. The only challenge now is to convince myself that my lifestyle and my hobbies are not boring and unremarkable. This definitely requires a ton of work.
If you like what you hear and you would like to stay connected, sign up for my newsletter too okay? I just set up one. I’m really proud of it. I plan to send out exclusive newsletters monthly, so I promise I won’t spam your inbox. I am just one person, so if I have the ability to write so much that you feel spammed, call me superwoman. Bahaha.
I would also like to take some of your time to thank you for giving me the courage to start this. If I had never started streaming and somehow began building the most amazing community of loving and supportive individuals from all around the world, I don’t think I would have felt like anyone would be interested in the ramblings of a random Singaporean girl trying her hardest to never end up in a 9-5 job.
Before I sign off, I would like to share with you this quote that I really like, and I feel is very applicable to this new beginning:
Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.
Andre Gide
Thank you so much for reading to the end.
Sending you all my love,
Chermi xx
